We hope you had a great Thanksgiving and chowed down on some lechon asado, moro or frijoles negros and arroz blanco, yuca, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry and all that good stuff.

We might take a day or two off to enjoy our holiday but we wanna leave you with our little series "Latino or Americano." Toy Drive: Swazy Claus and County of Fade Barber Shop

Swazy Claus and County of Fade Barber Shop are having a Toy Drive for the children of Hialeah. Please bring an unwrapped toy to the County of Fade Barbershop or make a monetary donation and you'll receive a FREE tape as a thank you.

On Dec. 18,2010 at 2:30PM Swazy Claus and his elves will be have a party for less fortunate children in Hialeah. There will also be an opportunity to take picture with Swazy Claus!

This holiday season help make a difference in the life of a child who wouldn't otherwise receive a toy this Christmas. So please take a moment to donate an unwrapped toy (or 2 or 3) or mail a check to help give local children in the community a Christmas to remember!

All donations must be received December 17th as all toys will be given away by SWAZY CLAUS on Dec 18th at the holiday party.

Happy Thanksgiving Hialeah

Dear Hialeah,

Today I am thankful for you. You give me an endless amount of material to blog about on a daily basis. Your colorful spirit is unique and there's no city quite like you.

Thank you for your loud neighbors that remind me I am never alone. Thank you for your street vendors who always have a snack or treat readily available to me. Thank you for your nosy residents who ensure my neighborhood remains safe and my house will never be broken into. Thank you for your colorful houses, creative signs and interesting vehicles.

Thank you for your unexpected and impromptu entertainment that always makes me smile and sometimes makes me shake my head. Thank you for law breakers, insane traffic, crazy parking and your beautiful fountains. Most of all, thank you for everyone who loves Hialeah and visits our blog regularly, our contributors, our friends and fans and those who give us shout outs.

Though you aren't Weston or Coral Gables I do feel blessed to live in Hialeah and I'm thankful for you. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Serious Accident in West Hialeah

There was a serious accident this morning on West 41st Street and West 1st Avenue in Hialeah. I'm not sure what happened but it looks like the car and truck hit each other and then the truck hit the light pole and knocked it down into someone's yard. The fence is trashed and there were injuries.

If any Hialeah officials take the time to read this blog, you might want to pay attention and get involved in making some positive changes. Traffic flow under the Palmetto Expressway by Westfield/Westlan Mall is a giant arroz con mango! Check it out during morning and evening rush hour. Dale!

School Zone Speeders

If you're gonna be speeding through a school zone you better hope I don't see you. Cause if I do, you better believe I'm gonna post your plate and embarrass the crap out of you. 15 MPH for all school zones - even in Hialeah. This dipshit was speeding through the zone in front of Hialeah Middle School and then he/she sped through Amelia Earhart Elementary's too, right down the street from the Hialeah Police Department. Genius!

Yea, I'm callin' you fools out. I'm tired of you bitches breakin' the law in my city.
