Toy Drive: Swazy Claus and County of Fade Barber Shop

Swazy Claus and County of Fade Barber Shop are having a Toy Drive for the children of Hialeah. Please bring an unwrapped toy to the County of Fade Barbershop or make a monetary donation and you'll receive a FREE tape as a thank you.

On Dec. 18,2010 at 2:30PM Swazy Claus and his elves will be have a party for less fortunate children in Hialeah. There will also be an opportunity to take picture with Swazy Claus!

This holiday season help make a difference in the life of a child who wouldn't otherwise receive a toy this Christmas. So please take a moment to donate an unwrapped toy (or 2 or 3) or mail a check to help give local children in the community a Christmas to remember!

All donations must be received December 17th as all toys will be given away by SWAZY CLAUS on Dec 18th at the holiday party.

OYE!! Tonight Humbert radio interview and live full electric performance on WDNA 88.9 FM. from 7 to 8pm. They'll be performing live with a 16pc string section and 6pc horn section. a 20 member choir, 3 bag pipes and doing Humbert songs with a karaoke machine and a very special cameo by the original kool-aid guy, oh yeah!!!! Hialeah Haikus

Yes, there's a book out called Hialeah Haikus and it's mad popular too. Hialeah Haikus is written by a group of Miami artists, writers and actors in their 20s and 30s calling themselves "Foryoucansee."

Laura Isensee of the Miami Herald writes about the book saying "Seventeen syllables at a time, the writers try to celebrate the Miami culture they know and grew up with. That's not the slick image of South Beach from television, but the Cuban-American culture that pulses in the suburbs of Kendall, at the spring formal at Belen Jesuit prep school or in the agua, fango y factoria of Hialeah (a less-than-flattering reference to the city's water, mud and factories). I don't know about you but this is a book I have to check out. There aren't too many out there that truly celebrate real life and pop culture in Miami.

(so get there super early) There will be music, fun, and great fireworks, all thanks to Hialeah's sponsors! As part of the celebration, 85 residents of our community will become U.S. CITIZENS and be sworn in by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Department. Free admission and free parking.
