Estella can clean your house even if she can't spell/read so it might be a good idea to pick out the cleaning supplies you want her to use and tell her what they're for. You know, just in case. Yeah I know the phone number ain't a Florida number, but it was dropped in a local mailbox so maybe home-girl just hasn't updated her number since she's moved. She's definitely got roots in the HIA!

Let Me Guess, Another CVS




E 32nd Street and 2nd Ave
Across from Hialeah Park aka Hialeah Racetrack and the Post Office

This used to be an empty parking lot for years and years. It was fenced in and surrounded by trees so you couldn't really see what was in there. Now, it's just another construction project. We'll probably end up with another CVS, Payless Shoe store or Walgreens.

Whatever it is, I hope it brings a ton of new jobs to the HIA.

So Much for Shade



What a TREEmendous difference when you drive down E 32nd street now. They've completely hacked to death trimmed the trees that line the street and offered much welcomed shade. The trees are on the Hialeah Park (racetrack) property. Not sure why the did it but it looks like crap now.

Sign of the Times


You know the economy has taken a hit when your botanica has given in to selling it's wares for .99 cents. I could be wrong but Hialeah may be the only city in the U.S. that has combined a botanica with the appeal of the .99 cent store.
